POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the integration, facilitation, coordination and implementation of strategic goals/objectives as related to quality management, employee education, service excellence and evidence based nursing practice across the organization. The Director is also responsible for the business development, planning, integration, and management of existing and additional future clinical services. Accountable for operations management of the inpatient clinical department to include facility performance against annual targets and operating budgets; quality management; service excellence and developing strong working relationships with Bon Secours executive and mission leadership.

Job Requirements

1. Must possess current license as a Registered Nurse from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
2. Bachelors degree in Nursing required. Masters degree in Nursing or health administration preferred.
3. Minimum of 3 years of leadership/management experience in an acute care or outpatient setting with a proven
track record of success.
4. Maintains current CPR certification.
5. Knowledge of administrative and clinical systems, skills in systems development and implementation, evidence
of excellent personnel management, communication skills and fiscal management, knowledge of quality
management and performance improvement strategies and tools.
6. Previous work experience in financial management, strategic planning, employee relations, and personnel
supervision and practice is required.
