Demonstrated track record of creating course structure and content that meets the needs of adult learners in a distance learning environment
Knowledge and experience working courseware development software/tools (some examples would be Lectora and Captivate)

Lockheed Martin Corporation is seeking an applicant for the position of Instructional Systems Specialist (ISS) supporting the U.S. Marine Corps, Training and Education Command, College of Distance Education and Training (CDETs). In this position you will be part of a 12 member Lockheed Martin team that provides instructional development, analysis and design for Marine Corps Distance Learning on a wide range of subject areas. The team consist of Instructional Systems Specialists, Graphics Specialists and Programmers. This position will specifically focus on the ISS portion of the instructional development lifecycle. Responsibilities of the ISS position include supporting the CDETs internal and external Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) courseware development efforts throughout each stage of the IMI development process; from requirements analysis and development of objectives to the final delivery of courseware.

The Instructional Systems Specialist will analyze the required content based on supplied information and identify gaps in information as needed. Work collaboratively with project proponents to identify the optimum type, or types, of solutions that will result in the most cost effective instructional product that benefits the target learner and achieves the sponsors desired goals. He or she will develop learning objectives that adequately reflect the behavior, condition, and standards necessary to support a related performance task. Evaluate and develop project design documents, to include proposed instructional strategies, to ensure that the proposed design approach supports learning objectives and achieves the required level of interactivity needed to effectively transfer information to the target learner.

The Instructional Systems Specialist will take information acquired during analysis to create well written, technically accurate instruction materials that will also provide an opportunity for students to be actively involved in the learning process. The ISS will take all of the information gathered in analysis and design and then work closely with the graphic artists and programmers to translate the content into the creation of static and animated graphics, performance exercises, simulations, and interactive sequences to support instructional content and courseware design.

Additional responsibilities will include:
The development of assessments, to include situational or scenario based-questions, that contribute to mastery of learning/performance objectives, pass learner validation process, and align with the critical success factors identified during the analysis phase of the project.
Manage project timelines and outcomes ensuring that content is delivered within the expected timeframe
Evaluation of the training and the assessment of learning outcomes of this training.

All courseware will be developed to the latest version of the Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) standards.

This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week working on-site aboard U.S. Marine Corps Base, Quantico, VA.

The candidate hired for this position MUST be eligible to receive an Interim Secret Clearance from the U.S. Government
This is not a virtual/telecommute position.

Job Requirements

Demonstrate an ability to effectively organize, prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
Previous experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and with outside stakeholders to accomplish complex tasks
Experience conducting Front End Analysis to indentify training gaps
Expertise with Microsoft office automation tools to include Office, Project and Visio
Experience with eLearning development standards, SCORM, and Section 508
Knowledge of QuestionMark Perception is a plus.
