The Lewin Group is seeking a Senior Consultant to join their team, within the Federal National Security Emergency Preparedness (FNSEP) practice group in Falls Church, VA. NSEP team provides research, analysis and consulting support a wide variety of health and benefits programs. Specific areas include program evaluation, statistical and economic analysis, predictive modeling and strategic planning, policy research, payment strategy, manpower analysis, etc... The position entails direct interaction with our federal clients, assisting with consulting projects focused on Medicare policy analysis and provider payment issues. Additionally, the position will be responsible for developing cost estimates, impact analysis and outcome analysis. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to perform research and data analysis. The successful candidate will have an interest in utilizing quantitative research and statistical methodologies to help define and shape recommendations on policy, benefits, special populations, and program evaluations.

Projects can include but are not limited to:

Completing studies on the future of long term care services in certain geographic areas, examining economic impacts of hospitals, financing studies of academic health centers, developing cost estimates for Medicare coverage of benefits, outcome analysis for specialty hospitals, health care insurance market issues, and projects related to provider finance and reimbursement all of which require a strong aptitude in SAS programming, financial, and statistical analysis.

Specific knowledge of any of the following areas or relevant specialty area is a plus: program integrity, informatics, strategic planning and quality assurance.

Expert level serving in a project lead capacity, with enterprise-wide knowledge managing multiple complex projects in one or more areas of business modeling, healthcare econometrics, commercial medical care revenue-cycle processes and performance metrics, business management, strategic planning, development, and organizational performance support. Senior level required to develop and articulate critical case assumptions, recommendations and conclusions and to compose and present successful project deliverables. Demonstrated ability analyzing problems, defining solutions, communicating recommendations, developing procedures, building consensus with the client, providing implementation direction, and developing and managing work plans. Possesses excellent presentation, written and verbal communications skills across multiple levels of leadership.

Key responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day management of projects and project staff
Ensure overall quality of project deliverables
Managing multiple priorities and strict timelines
Assist with the development of the team including recruiting activities to enhance and grow the team
Completing and delivering work product(s) in agreed-upon timeframe within the contracted budget
Managing and developing client relationships as evidenced by positive client feedback and client engagement with repeated business

Qualifications:

Qualifications:
Masters degree or PhD in health care, economics, public health, or related
7+ years post graduate experience in healthcare, health policy or related field
5+ years of large scope and scale project management experience
3+ years experience conducting data driven studies and analysis
3+ years experience organizing and supervising the work of others
Applied application of SAS programming
Experience with public use files (N Hanes)
2+ years completing cost of illness studies
Experience with IMS/RTI databases
Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Proven project management skills
Ablity to define concepts and insights regarding the applicability of best industry practices.
Demonstrated ability to participate in project activity at the individual, team member and/or management level.
