This enables protection to patients by preventing caregivers from making errors and protecting patients from the consequences of those errors across the continuum of care. Accountabilities
CareFusion is adding positions to its Clinical Specialty team. These positions play an instrumental role in a national deployment of Pyxis Point of Care products across 153 U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) medical centers and 17 outpatient centers. The VA is already one of the largest users of barcode medication administration technology and the contract expands and upgrades their existing technology and is one of the largest contracts in the history of CareFusions Pyxis Point of Care verification product line.
The Clinical Specialty Consultants are home-based positions with extensive weekly travel. Successful candidates will reside anywhere in the US near a major airport.
They will support Go Live activities and train clinical staff on the use of PPOC. Specific duties include:
- Providing consultation on clinical workflow
- Conducting classroom training for nursing and other clinical users
- Interacting with multiple levels of a healthcare organization from clinical support personnel to senior-level management
- Developing training content and materials
- Troubleshooting application, interface and workflow issues
- Supporting end-users as they begin using the software solutions
Job Family Summary
Clinical Specialty is responsible for providing quality, timely, granular and actionable data for selected operational and clinical metrics, as well as tracking and identifying trends for healthcare data and providing benchmark comparisons for healthcare providers.

- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of clinical operations and proprietary software solutions
- Processes, researches, analyzes and interprets healthcare data across multiple disciplines
- Makes recommendations regarding healthcare data utilization
- Utilizes technology and makes recommendations regarding application and utilization of data on a broad scope
- Makes recommendations regarding processes and methodologies to drive improved financial, quality and patient care results
- Works well independently and as part of a team in a matrix organization
- Nursing degree required
- 2-3 years clinical practice
- Advanced degree preferred
- Software implementation experience preferred
- Driving requirements dictate the candidate meets company standards as a result of a three-year driving recordcheck.
- Upon hire, must provide proof of, and maintain current immunizations and obtain additional immunizations appropriate for the facility which enables access to customer sites in order to perform essential job functions. Proofs must include: Hepatitis B, Influenza (current year), MMR (mumps, measles, rubella), Varicella (chicken pox) Annual TB/PPD (skin test), Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis.
