Compact Power Services is seeking a Part-Time Field Service Technician. We are comprised of dedicated Field Service Technicians in the maintenance industry. Compact Power Services offers world class service and resources for the maintenance of our customer’s machines and manufacture process. We are looking for a field service mechanic to work part-time providing maintenance service in various locations within a 1-1/2 -hour radius of their home. Hours for this position are based on customer’s maintenance needs and will vary. The Field Service Technician uses their skill set to repair a wide variety of equipment found in retail and industrial locations. We are looking for a detail oriented individual with excellent customer service skills and self-motivation.

Job Responsibilities

As a Field Service Technician you will be working on all types of equipment. You may service light construction equipment and light industrial equipment found in retail locations such as paint shakers, carpet carousels, checkout stands and shopping carts. You may also provide facility maintenance or heavy industrial machine maintenance. The type of service depends on your expertise and the customer base found in your area.

Additional responsibilities:

• Maintaining, trouble shooting and servicing industrial equipment
• Reading mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematics
• Servicing construction/landscape fleet equipment in multiple tool rental stores within your territory this includes emergency service, maintenance checks, tech support, troubleshooting
• Servicing light industrial equipment, such as saws, blind cutters, paint shakers, conveyor systems, in big box retailers
• Using computer applications for word processing, making excel spreadsheets, inventory control and reporting
• Prioritizing, planning, scheduling and performing daily machine repairs
• Using sound judgment to deal with and eliminate safety related issues
• Providing daily reports and communicating regularly with store managers, District Service Managers and home office personnel
• Making phone calls and processing paperwork in accordance with CPS policies and procedures

As a Field Service Technician with CPS you need to have several years of experience servicing a variety of equipment in multiple locations. Experience working on light industrial equipment in the machine repair field is preferred. This maintenance technician position requires you to be flexible. There is no guarantee of hours; work is based off of customer’s maintenance needs. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician that is willing to do whatever’s necessary to provide great customer service. It is essential that you are a self-starter and strive to fix it right the FIRST time. In this position you will be working in both inside and outside environments. As a Field Service Technician you must be able to manage time, set priorities and provide customer service in a professional manner. Excellent communication skills are a must for this position as you will be communicating with superiors, customer personnel, co-workers, and others associated with the company’s business.

Additional requirements for the Field Service Technician:

• High School Diploma, GED, Technical or Trade School
• Valid Driver’s License with proof of insurance
• Standard Tools used in your craft
• Computer and Scanner with internet access
• Versatile maintenance repair skill set
• Hydraulics experience - cylinder, pump, motor and valves
• Welding experience - stick & wire
• Some small diesel/gas engine repair experience
• Ability to lift 80 lbs.
• Strong knowledge of the electrical systems found on construction equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical assemblies, electric motors and simple control wiring
• Ability to adhere to OSHA regulations including, but not limited to fall protection, lockout tagout procedures
• Customer Service Experience
