Job Description

Responsibilities: A Kforce client is seeking a Senior-level Accountant in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia (VA).Heres a position description, which may help:

• The selected candidate will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial status reports and external reporting documentation filed with DFAs and other DoD and civilian agency organizations
• Provide support to the F/A Division in preparing agency financial statements, footnotes, supporting documentation, and DoD standards and instructions
• Provide assistance in the preparation of special information report to OSD, DFAS, or other DoD Components
• Participate in reviews and analysis of information contained in financial reports
• Identify; report; and resolve errors and abnormal conditions
• Participate in management analysis of information contained in financial reports
• Identify conditions in financial reports that indicate a potential violation
• Provide policy and procedural recommendations as needed to improve the process

Job Requirements

Specific Qualifications (required unless noted otherwise):

• A Bachelors Degree or better is required
• Candidates must have at least 2+ years of experience reviewing, creating, and analyzing DoD Financial Reports
• An accounting background is required
• Relevant Certification such as CPA, CDFM, or CGFM is strongly preferred
