The Richmond Group USA is seeking a DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING for a global manufacturing group located in the New River Valley region of Virginia. This organization proudly boasts over 50 years as an industry leader and currently has a global presence in over 40 countries. This opportunity offers the right individual a high level of involvement to build programs and make rapid step change improvements. This position also allows you to work with Fortune 50 executives in an entrepreneurial environment. 

As the primary support to the CFO and the executive team, this Director role will greatly impact all the critical, tactical and strategic initiatives of the organization. In addition, the Director will lead the day-to-day finance operations, including all general accounting, monthly reporting and analysis, month-end closing, product costing & margin analysis, budgeting and forecasting support. The right individual for this opportunity will have a proven track record of success, the desire to develop continuous improvements, and thrive in a results driven environment.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

 

• BS Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA
• 5-10 years accounting experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Manufacturing experience is a MUST for consideration
• History of career growth that includes plant controller or corporate controller experience with proven leadership results
• High level of comfort in using various business systems and data mining and expertise using Microsoft Office software, including superior Excel skills.  Any experience working with a large ERP system, like Oracle or SAP a huge plus.
• Highly analytical problem solver; attention to detail and willingness to embrace change and recommend solutions proactively with confidence
