Job Description
The Business DevelopmentManager is responsible for managing Raytheon presence in the Washington, D.C. area, convenient to the various service-specific and joint military command organizations and customers. The position is located in Arlington, Va., in the Corporate Business Development office. Responsibilities include:
Serve as the enterprise Business Development representative for Air Force electronic warfare, cyber warfare programs, Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance, and C3I
Responsible for shaping an integrated strategy and environmental assessment of the U.S. Air Force customer, focused on future opportunities. This individual will be responsible for business development activities focused on Air Force opportunities related to electronic warfare, cyber warfare, ISR, and C3I programs
Act as an enterprise focal point for selected Raytheon program activities; establish, maintain and be the Raytheon representative to the various U.S. military customers
Customer engagement on requirements development, procurement and mission support opportunities - provide communication conduit for customers
Represent Raytheon ideas, solutions and capabilities by conducting timely capabilities sessions with senior-level customers
Communicate U.S. military / Joint strategies, policies and initiatives and requirements to Raytheon leaders, value and growth of the various service missions within Raytheon; identify growth opportunities for businesses
Support the Raytheon gate process and bid & proposal activities
Relationship building - Raytheon representative to community, competitors, partners and other local organizations
Customer intelligence - Awareness and knowledge of customer-critical activities in the Washington, D.C. area and communicate information as appropriate with enterprise
Community relations - Represent Raytheon to the local community; host, coordinate or participate in selected appropriate local events, associations, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Ten plus years progressive experience working with military / defense customers with specific experience in electronic warfare
Experience in the management and execution of Air Force Programs within the DOD
Bachelors degree - Aeronautical or General Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing / Business Development
Understanding of the government procurement, fiscal and regulatory environment
Demonstrated success in strategic planning and ability to analyze and evaluate missions, requirements, technologies and capabilities
Experience partnering with geographically dispersed locations
Knowledge of company to leverage Raytheon capabilities to customer
Understanding of U.S. military and joint command structures and requirements generation process
Demonstrated success in leading from the front, directly engaging customers and addressing problems
Proven ability to develop effective internal and external relationships through personal influence - proactive, responsive, consistent and persistent
Understanding of customer requirements and mission needs with a focus on collaboration; identifies opportunities for strategic alliances, opening new market segments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills - active listening, ability to articulate customers environment and needs to all management levels
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) and using the internet and internet resources
Desired Skills
Advanced degree
Functional knowledge of cyber, ISR, and C3I
Prior PM, engineer/technical lead, or U.S. military systems experience
Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance and SSBI
