Market Development Manager at Richmond

Under minimal supervision, the Career & Market Development Manager partners with local & regional businesses, companies and associations to increase the number of job leads and orders for ECA brand students and alumni, including ground & on-line. Works with assigned Campus Career Development staff to ensure the department has an adequate amount of job leads and extern sites. This consultative sales and influencing position requires medium to high evaluation, originality and ingenuity; creativity when tackling complex issues or problems in the market and leveraging their campus and corporate resources. Job focus is 80% on market placement activities and 20% targets for continuing education, tuition reimbursement, Medical Billing and Coding or Retail at the discretion of the campus President and the associated campus business plan.

This is a market focused position. Employee is expected to be out in the market 90% of their week making calls, connections and events. A work space at the campus will be available when the CMDM is on-site.

Requirements

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in a related Administrative, Business, Liberal Arts, or Social Sciences discipline with minimum of 5 - 7 years of directly related B2B development experience, employer relations, selling or public relations advising experience required. Proven ability to deliver quantifiable sales results. Prior work experience can offset the degree requirement provided a detailed listing of prior experience is submitted to and approved by the corporate leader responsible for the area and the EVP of Human Resources. At least one year corporate outreach, corporate relations, and/or marketing experience required, preferably from an educational institution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage all large employer relationships in the 35 50 mile radius around the campus and assigned territory. Works closely with the assigned Campus Student Development Managers and Area Director Career & Market Development in order to provide them with an appropriate number of job leads.
Develop long term working relationships with local, regional businesses & influential associations.
Work closely with Academic Dean(s) and PDs to ensure adequate extern sites are acquired and contracted for with local employers. CMDM own 100% extern site acquisition.
Work closely with academic Dean(s) and PDs to ensure the most relevant and influential advisory board contributors are identified, invited and make commitments to participate on campus.
Maintain frequent contact with local employers to obtain information on job opportunities, to develop and enhance working relationships, and to facilitate client placement.
Ensure accurate entry of job leads into the CampusVue system and CRM (Contact Management System).
Follow up and maintain all leads and reports on lead activity for placements, continuing education and billing & coding.
Develop and maintain marketing and event calendar.
Participate in student/alumni activities, career fairs, graduation and related events.
Work with businesses to identify employment trends on a regional basis and communicate these trends to appropriate staff personnel throughout ECA.
Develop employer requirements environmental scan and shares with leadership quarterly based on employer input.
Complete other projects and duties as assigned.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of regional job market trends
Able to demonstrate PowerPoint Presentation Development and stand up presentations skills
Ability to market ECA Brand student populations and capabilities to business and industry
Strong PC skills with at least one year of experience using word processing, spreadsheets and web-based search engines
Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Excellent customer service and communication skills required including writing and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions
Database management skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
Knowledge of data management systems and processes
Organizing and coordinating skills
Ability to analyze and solve problems
Ability to make evaluative judgments
Knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, policies and procedures within specialty area
Ability to develop and deliver presentations
