Title: Wi-Fi Test Engineer
Location: Herndon, VA
Type: Contract
Duration: 6 months

Job Description:

Our client, a leading provider of cable and telephony services, is seeking several Wi-Fi Test Engineers for its Herndon, VA location.  He or she will be a key contributor on a multi-functional team of wireless "Core" configuration, Integration, and operational support for 802.11a/b/g/n based Access Point / Wi-Fi radio based commercial network.  He or she should have hands-on experienced with Wi-Fi/ CDMA/LTE/WiMAX wireless technology based infrastructures and testing tools.

Duties include:

  • Configures "Core" network.

  • Develops test strategies.

  • Develops test cases and test plans.

  • Executes end to end test cases based on wireless features, functionalities and performance.

  • Upgrades software and firmware packages.

  • Works on System - Integration & Commissioning of EMS servers. Captures SNMP traps vis EMS, and interprets error scenarios to reason for call failures.

  • Isolates performance and operational issues and analyzes faults, error logs and statistics.

  • Troubleshoots and analyzes system issues include SW/HW - Interpretation of equipment logs and performance reports to identify system degradation to aid with fault isolation.

  • Verified performance / KPI per features.



Required Skills:

  • 10+ years in network design, Integration and maintenance experience of Wireless system such as L2 switches / Routers / Aggregators / Intelligent Serving Gateways / ASNGW/ PDSN/ S-P GW in Wi-Fi/ CDMA/WiMAX/LTE.

  • Expertise in creating test plans for system level subsystem level and feature level testing.

  • Hands on experience with CDMA/LTE / WiMAX test tools.

  • Strong knowledge of RTP, IPV4/6, and MAP protocol.

  • Strong knowledge of core system connectivity with DHCP / DTFTP/ ISG- BRAS /AAA/PDSN/AN_AAA.

  • Strong wireless architecture experience with Wi-Fi/LTE / CDMS/ WiMAX core system interfaces.

  • Experience in validation of call flows as per IEEE 802.11 b/b/g/n.

  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating System.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills - Strong knowledge of and the ability to solve complex issues in the areas of: - Good documentation skills - Excellent oral & written communications skills.

  • Familiarity of Performance Management (System KPIs and metrics, etc.)

  • Cisco certification: CCIE/CCNP network certificate is a plus Bachelors is required.

  • Strong skills in writing test cases - if this is noted on resume, please provide documentation.
