SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**1 Circulates cases as it relates to unit scope of care.*2 Understands principles of aseptic technique and requirements for scrubbing cases as it relates to unit scope of care.*3 Exercises sound judgement and decision-making skills on behalf of patient, self, and peers.*4 Pursues own professional growth through continuing education and inservices.*5 Communicates effectively with staff, peers, director, external and internal customers.*6 Organizes work to complete duties effective and efficiently.*7 Serves as a professional member of the OR team.*8 Demonstrates competency in providing patient/family education.9 Adheres to hospital policies and procedures; supports the mission of the hospital.  RequirementsEXPERIENCERequired - Current Virginia License, completion of Peri-Operative Course or previous experience as a Peri-perative O.R. Nurse.Preferred - Current Virginia License, minimum of one year OR experience. Previous CORT prior to licensed as R.N.EDUCATIONRequired - Graduate of accredited school of nursing with current license in the State of Virginia.
