Secure Message Engineer - Healthcare Solutions

*Position Responsibilities

The Secure Message Engineer will serve as a key technical resource for the secure messaging team and will be responsible for designing, architecting, and supporting secure exchange solutions as well as interfaces to specific vendor applications.

Implement requirements from product management for current and future products. The SMSE will work with Verizon clients in the healthcare industry to design secure exchange solutions.

Deliver the SUMS solution set on time and budget by working closely with product management teams Development/Engineering; Develop technology partnerships to build and integrate 3rd party products into SUMS where necessary .

Manage 3rd party developers where needed.

Ensure solutions work with one another; ensure architecture works.

Create interfaces for specific solutions

Acts independently and exercises independent judgment and discretion within generally defined practices and policies to select appropriate methods or techniques for obtaining solutions. Candidate must have ability to solve complex solutions using development tools.

Ability to create solutions from the ground up as well as working on existing solutions to ensure they meet market demand.

Develop a vision of the product based on data provided by product management and execute on it.

Create scalable solutions

Executes independently or with a team to deliver solution to market

*Required Skills & Experience

The preferred candidate must have demonstrated in previous roles: proven successful track record in industry to deliver software solutions such as Healthcare IT solutions; must have deep analytical skills, and an ability to operate in positions requiring significant self direction and motivation. Candidate must have experience in all phases of new product development or creation including research, specifications, prototyping, installation, test & support as well as working with 3rd party development teams. Acts independently or member of a highly skilled technical team responsible for fulfilling complex business requirements with the implementation of reliable & efficient automated solutions.

*10 or more years of working experience in Coding, Engineering, IT, or Product Development

*Agile Development experience (Lean, Scrum, XP, etc.)

*Knowledge and experience with Java, .Net, C++, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, Drupal and other Web Application Development Tools

* Must have created interfaces to EMRs prior

Desired Skills & Experience

BS in relevant field, managerial experience a plus.

Education and Experience

Technical Associates Degree required or equivalent work experience. BS preferred. Generally requires minimum of 3 yrs. experience.
